We were grateful that the volcano that erupted on Flores (2 islands from Bali) a day before our scheduled flight only caused us delays. It is a 6.5 hr flight from Sydney to Bali. We flew Garuda Indonesia and I’m gonna shout out to the quality of the food and service.
Doesn’t look like much but the spicy shredded beef was delicious! Coconut rice was a great accompaniment. Pasta salad, bread butter and crackers & cheese AND a really good chocolate cake!
Staying for 5 free nights via our credit card at the Hilton Bali Resort. Upgraded our room from garden view to ocean view for $30/night and we can hear the waves break. Breakfast buffet $20 and I eat plenty and don’t need breakfast #2 like I do at home. Of course, I’ve cut way back on my exercise (being nice to hernia and pelvic pain that is doing much better as a result)
